We Are Laura

We Are Laura is a recently established graphic design and art direction partnership working across print, digital and moving image. Having met on the MA Communication Design degree at St Martins, Laura Woolf and Laura Middlehurst discovered a shared passion for experimental design with a hand-made twist, both focusing on bringing a tactile and hand-crafted quality to print and screen based design.

Prior to working together on a permanent basis, Laura M created websites, animations and worked as a set designer/art director, designing campaigns for music, film and fashion. Working at both Al Jazeera International and BBC Worldwide. Meanwhile, Laura W worked as Label Manager at Modular Records whilst continuing graphic projects on a freelance basis, including designing the single cover for Everybody’s artist - Lunar Youth.

Since forming their double-headed design company We Are Laura last year, they have been designing everything together - from fashion magazines, websites, exhibitions and record covers to logos, posters and animations. Recent projects include the art direction and design of the Oasis in-store magazine and a new website for creative consultancy Mill Co. Laura Middlehurst is also co-founder of “The Mill Co. Project”, where We Are Laura are based, which is a creative work space for freelancers in the heart of the east end’s art district.
